Lacy Green is a reporter and documentary filmmaker based in Oakland, CA. She’s worked in local newsrooms in Beverly Hills, San Francisco and Oakland, covering crime, culture and social issues. She has edited and published over 150 articles and has produced and directed six short films.
Not Gone Yet, a film she co-directed about marginalized communities at risk of not returning following the Eaton fire, won a National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences scholarship award. Her latest short film, she produced, directed and edited, is about a man with dementia who chose to end his life before the disease worsened. She’s drawn to fundamentally human, character-driven stories and is passionate about seeking truth and justice.
In May 2026, she graduated from UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism with a master's in documentary filmmaking.
